Week Four

This week I was really focused on getting the poster right, this included experimenting with trailing different styles and approaches (hand done, digital vector, photographic ect...) I also started looking at different colour themes to use, i've started to really like quite a dark red as it fits the emergency/disaster theme we're trying to represent. I've done a lot of iterations of these which can be seen in our digital workbook. This week I also started planning the third touchpoint including a rough layout and the information i'd need to cover inside. Once we've decided the final style for the poster it'll be easy to transfer this through to both the flyer and the website.

Week Two

This week we continued mocking up concepts and testing ideas of what approach we could take to this project. We also made up mood boards and did some research around what it can mean to be a neighbourhood community in New Zealand. I really like using the thematic visuals of board games and we've been tossing round a few ideas around monopoly and connect four which have become visual puns with our topic. 'Are you prepared for chance' 'Have you filled up your community chest' 'Pass go, collect 20 new friends' etc... This weekend we'll start finalising some of these ideas as more refined posters in preparation for the interim presentation Monday morning next week.

Week Five

This week was primarily development of the third touch point with some slight developments to the poster. I decided it would be much better to have a small 'pack' of styled property cards like in monopoly instead of a flyer. These would have all the same information but would be separated onto different cards for clarity. The case of these cards would still have the same conceptual idea of 'filling the community chest' and this would be continued in the information on the cards. We also spent a lot of time this week making sure the website and my pieces were all similar in style, and the texts we used ect...

Week One

Due to personal reasons, I was away for the first lesson Monday. So on Thursday I was set up with my partner and we began catching up on what we'd missed and planning some concepts around the theme of koha and the brief we'd received. We decided to go with the neighbourhood option as we really liked the idea of having a games night rather than a bbq for the neighbourhood event.
